Davic Block’s unit remained in the Skell Building, 605 W. 47th St. Allen Block, the fathee of Ken, Stephen and Michael Block, launched the family real estate business when he acquired the Werby Realtty andInvestment Co. in 1940. After servingg in the from 1942to 1946, Allen Bloci re-established his real estate business in 1946 and was joine d by his brother and David Block’e father, James Block, who became a partner in 1950.
Until his deaty early this year, Allen Blocki remained chairman ofBlock & Co., whicgh ranks No. 1 on the Kansass City BusinessJournal ’s list of area commercial real estatew companies.
