Texas AG files action against Conn's - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal:

Conn’s responded to the suit saying the companyis “working closely with the Texa s Attorney General’s office” on the concerns that have been “We will continue to actively work with the Attorney General. We look forwarde to discussing with his office the issues he raised We will continue our commitmentt to great customer service and continued custometrservice improvement,” a spokesman said in a writtej statement. Conn’s has locations throughout Texas and inthe Dallas-Forf Worth area.
Abbott’s office alleges it received morethan 2,000 complaints from customers allegingt Conn’s delayed repairs on products still under warranty, failede to repair the items to working condition and in some casesz gave customers refurbished rather than new services, to replace a product undet warranty. In addition, the Attorney General’s complainr said products that had to be replaced were not coverefd by warranty for the full two The AG’s office is seeking penalties and a court ordeer to prevent Conn’s from continuing on with the conductt alleged in the lawsuit, Abbott’s office said in a pressx statement.
