Business Journal wins 4 Peninsula Press Club awards - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal:

The paper won top prizes in the non-daily newspaper grouop for two stories. First prize in the Breaking News categoru went toKatherine Conrad'xs story about a new grocery store coming to a downtownj San Jose high-rise condominium developmenf headlined, "The 88 may bag a grocer." Anothedr first prize in the Technology category went to a story writtehn by Lisa Sibley about a company that has developed pill s that report when they have been takebn via a computer chip that is embedded in "Proteus Biomedical prescribes smart pill.
" The Business Journal won two of the threee awards given in Technology, also winning second place for anotherr Lisa Sibley story about a hydration monitor developed by a Mountain View company, "Nes hydration monitor may save lives on the fire A third place award went to a headlind written by Cromwell Schubarth for an articled about of Santa Clara, whicy makes a padlock that is unlocked by word s instead of numbers, "Unlocking retail success with the right combinationm of words.
" One of the paper's San Jose State University student Suzanne was also honored with the Herb Caen Scholarship The awards were among 165 announcedd for Bay Area journalists, photographers, radip and television personnel and public relations professionals at a dinnef celebration at the Crowne Plazqa Hotel in Foster
